The concept of environment has recently been more popular than ever before due to the danger of exhaustion of natural resources, the extent to which environmental pollution has reached and its effects on human health and climatic changes. As a result of this, there have been efforts to attain development without harming the nature, in other words sustainable development strategies are being introduced.

Sustainable development aims to protect natural resources while proceeding with development without decreasing life standards. Within the framework of international treaties supporting this aim, countries are responsible for solving their environmental problems on national scale. Every country is preparing policies and strategies serving this aim. Under the light of this information, our vision is: 

• To encourage the initiation and implementation of projects in order to attain the aims indicated in the sustainable environment policy of our university,
• To conduct scientific research in order to determine local environmental problems and to come up with alternative solutions, sharing the results with the units concerned and prepare implementation plans,
• To encourage the initiation of scientific and applied projects on environmental problems at our university,
• To announce the activities carried out, to organise educational activities, seminars, courses and conferences to enlighten the public and quicken communication, to deliver certificates about these activities when necessary and to publish materials
